About the team The Payments engineering powers the processing of hundreds of billions of dollars in card payments annually, enabling users to accept card payments from Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East regions. As the Engineering Manager for the team, you’ll have responsibility for expanding the reach of Stripe’s global payments network, delivering the best-in-class experience for card payments in these regions. In this role, you’ll be making some of the most significant strategic, product, and technical decisions for card payments at Stripe. Minimum requirements 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role. 8+ years of full-time software development experience. Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers. Ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-impact, and ambiguous environments. Commitment to high operational rigor when working with production systems. Experience building extensible software solutions that scale with business growth. Adept at thriving in a collaborative, cross-functional, and cross-timezone environment, while fostering a positive team culture. Preferred requirements Experience with payments-related products Working in global and cross-regional environments Experience using AI tools to improve team execution, quality, and overall effectiveness Experience with building out new teams. Experience developing product platforms to serve other product teams. Proven track record collaborating with partners across multiple regions and time zones. Experience and comfort with being in a user facing role.

Ability to guide customers through the full buying journey, including defining buying criteria, mapping buying processes, and driving clear next steps. Experience documenting and maintaining accurate pipeline data and account plans based on evidence rather than assumptions.
